The net has widened in the high-profile drug case involving two Police officers, with two more men now in custody as investigations intensify.

The latest arrests were made last night, bringing the total number of suspects to four.

Police have confirmed the two men are being questioned in connection with the same case in which two Police officers were earlier charged following the seizure of a liquid chemical that tested positive for methamphetamine.

The 43-year-old and 31-year-old Police officers were arrested on Friday and have since been jointly charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of Illicit Drugs under the Illicit Drugs Control Act.

The 31-year-old officer is also facing additional charges of Unlawful Importation of Illicit Drugs and Possession of Properties Suspected of Being Proceeds of Crime under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The charges have been sanctioned by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Both officers will appear at the Suva Magistrates Court today.
