IT will be an Extra Supermarket Labasa and Lincoln Rewa final in the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants today.

Favourites and home team Labasa battled hard against a spirited River Tubing Fiji/ Classic Travel Tours and Rentals Navua to win 1-0.

Anish Khem was the hero of the match, netting the winner in extra time as the two teams ended the regular 90-minute match at nil-all.

Labasa coach Alvin Chand gave all the credit to his men who fought hard until the final whistle, to gift their fans the win and a reason to turn up in numbers again today for the final.

“I would like to thank the players who have been working really hard on the field. It’s all because of their hardwork, if they had not given everything in the game, the result would not have been in our favour,” he said.

In the second semi-final, 2024 winners Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka were no match for Lincoln Rewa.

Smart and clinical are two words to describe how Rewa performed against the Blues as they used their number advantage to disarm Lautoka 6-0.

Lautoka’s Kishan Sami was red carded in the first half after fouling Rewa’s John Orobulu.

Sami fouled Orobulu, who had an opportunity to score, which saw Sami getting the marching orders from referee Veer Singh.

Orobulu and captain Setareki Hughes got a double each while Josaia Sela and replacement player Semi Matalau rubbed salt in Lautoka’s wounds with the Delta Tigers’ fifth and sixth goals.

Hughes was named the player of the match.

The win meant that Rewa maintained its clean sheet in the tournament heading into the final.

This will be tested today when they take on Labasa which will be backed by their loud supporters.

The Fiji Football Association is expecting another massive crowd with 6528 people turning up to witness the BOG semi-finals yesterday.

The final will kick off at 3pm.
