Suva Grammar School dominated the Punjas Digicel National Secondary Schools Netball competition after winning the finals from the under-14 to the under-19 grade at the Vodafone Arena in Suva yesterday.

Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Association president Navitalai Naiwalu said the performance of teams increased significantly since last year.

“We had some very exciting games here yesterday from the quarter-finals to the finals, but it was SGS that came out on top in the girls under-14, 15, 17 and 19 grades,” he said.

Yat Sen Secondary School won the boys open title after beating St Thomas High School 19-11.

He said the huge number of spectators at the arena added to the competitiveness of the tournament.

“It was also nice to see so many supporters, parents and family turn up to the arena to watch the games and support their individual teams.”

Naiwalu also thanked all participating teams for making the tournament an exciting and successful one.

“Hats off to all the teams for their dedication to competing and making the tournament a successful one.”
