Light earthquakes shake Suva–Nausori corridor

A series of light tremors were felt along the Suva–Nausori corridor this evening.

Fiji Seismology said the first earthquake was recorded at 5:28pm, the second at 7:11pm and the third at 9:09pm.

Residents have taken to social media to share their experiences.

The quake was located about nine kilometres north of Nausori Town.

The tremor was experienced in parts of Suva and Nausori, with residents reporting slight shaking.

Authorities confirmed that the event does not pose any immediate tsunami threat to the region.

There have been no reports of injuries or damage at this stage.
