Three victories have secured a spot for Levuka Public School’s under-17 netball team in the quarter-finals of the CREST Fiji Secondary School Netball finals 2025.
After two days of intense competition against over 60 schools from across the country, teams are gearing up for the knockout stages of one of the largest netball tournaments in Fiji.
The Levuka team played a total of four games in two days, managing to clinch victory in three of them.
Although they faced a setback against Tilak High School in one match, their three wins were enough to secure their spot in the quarter-finals, a significant achievement for the team.
Akanisi Boleilovoni, a player on the team, expressed the hard work and dedication that the team has put in over the past few months to qualify for the nationals in Vitilevu.
The team was unable to participate in the nationals last year due to their Cadet Pass out, making their current opportunity all the more special.
Boleilovoni emphasised the tough competition posed by larger schools from Vitilevu and the team’s determination to bring home a trophy.
“Coming and competing with big schools from Vitilevu, we knew will be tough, we have prepared well for this competition, and we are hoping to go back to Levuka with a trophy,” said Boleilovoni.
While they have already made it to the quarter-finals, the team remains focused on the ultimate goal of victory.
“We have made it through to the quarter-finals, we are proud of the achievement so far, but it’s still a long way to go, we have to be focused if we want the win.”
She adds excited to partake in the competition and experience the electrifying atmosphere, the team set out with the intention of giving their best and making their mark.
