Although now qualified for the semi-final of the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT, Ajay Trading Rewa FC head coach Rodicks Singh did not mince his words when he described the team’s 0-1 loss to Paradise Seafood Supplies Lautoka FC in their final pool match in Group A on Sunday.

Singh recounted on the team’s performance and lamented the game’s result, noting their composure in a high stakes match.

“Nobody to blame, no excuses to make, we’ll just take it upon ourselves,” Singh stressed.

“I think we talked about, again, our attitude, the way we approach the game in the first half. We were lethargic.”

His sentiments came after Rewa tried to counter the defence strategy of the defending champions, which proved futile when Saula Waqa shot through for the Blues in the 27th minute.

“I said we need to be showing that we want to win this game, because as it is, it’s a must win for us so we wanted to attack the game from the first recent game, but a much improved second half,” he added.

He understood how their supporters would have felt seeing the result, acknowledging their backing.

“I know the supporters are disappointed. Everybody wants to win; me, the boys, the supporters, everybody wants to win,” he said.

“But when it’s like this, everybody is disappointed but again, thank you for the support.”

Rewa’s semi-final spot was uncertain following that game, since in the match between Ba and Navua, a win by the latter would have meant the Delta Tigers make an early exit from the tournament.

However, when Ba won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Faazil Faizul Ali, Rewa’s stay in the competition was solidified.

Rewa will now meet Stratum Construction Suva FC in the second semi-final this Saturday at 4.30pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
