LELEAN Memorial School has stamped its authority early at the Coca-Cola Triple N Zone Athletics meet, producing a commanding performance on Day One at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.
The school’s dominance was highlighted in the prestigious Blue-Ribbon events, where both its girls and boys sprinters rose to the occasion in emphatic fashion.
Seini Irene Leweniqila announced her arrival in style, powering her way to claim the girl’s Blue-Ribbon title.
Speaking after her win, Leweniqila acknowledged the support behind her journey.
She credited her faith, family, and supporters for standing by her throughout her preparations.
“I thank the Lord, my family and everyone who supported me,” she says.
With the Coca-Cola Games in three weeks’ time, the young sprinter is already focused on the next challenge.
“I will have to lift my training intensity, particularly working on her speed, as I aim to deliver an even stronger performance on the nationals,” Leweniqila adds.
Not to be outdone, Aporosa Rabula delivered an equally impressive performance in the boy’s category.
Rabula displayed explosive pace off the blocks and maintained his rhythm down the track to seal the Boys Blue-Ribbon title cementing Lelean’s dominance in the boy’s division.
Rabula dedicated his win to his late father who passed away last year.
“I wish my dad was here to witness this win because he always reminds me to at least get a medal in the Zone meet, so this win is for him,” Rabula shared
The double triumph in the blue-ribbon races underlined Lelean Memorial School’s strong preparation and depth in athletics this season.
