The Legal Aid Commission will confirm later this month whether it will continue representing a man accused of injuring another on Suva’s Terry Walk last year.

The case involves Sireli Cava, 53, who appeared before Acting Judge Justice Waleen George in the High Court in Suva on Tuesday.

Mr Cava is charged with acting with intent to cause grievous harm.

It is alleged that on April 16 last year Mr Cava seized a knife from a nearby shop on Terry Walk and inflicted injuries on the victim.

The court heard that Legal Aid had initially advised Mr Cava, however, he has been providing conflicting instructions.

He has been further remanded in custody and the case adjourned to November 25.
