FORMER Lautoka Football Association Acting President Faiaaz Ali has reported a leaked internal email to the Police and the Online Safety Commission after it appeared on Facebook pages Fiji Sports News and Fiji Exposed Forum.
The email, which was circulated among Lautoka FA executives, demands that Ali submit full financial records relating to his term as Acting President from April 29 to May 23, 2025.
In the letter, the Lautoka Football Association claims it has made several attempts through emails and phone calls to obtain details of income and expenditure during Ali’s tenure but has not received the required information.
The association states that the delay is affecting preparations for the 2025 financial audit and could delay its Annual General Meeting scheduled for next month.
The letter gives Ali seven days to submit a proper income and expenditure statement, including supporting documents, receipts and executive meeting minutes approving payments made during his time in office.
It also requests details of any loans taken in the name of Lautoka FA.
This included donations collected using the association’s letterhead, and clarification on proceeds from the online sale of Lautoka FA T-shirts and caps, which the association claims it did not receive.
Speaking to this newspaper Ali said the email was never meant for public circulation and confirmed he has taken the matter to authorities.
He also questioned the timing and validity of the claims raised in the letter.
