A new chapter in student leadership commenced last Sunday as the 2026 prefects of Queen Victoria School and Ratu Kadavulevu School were formally inducted in separate ceremonies officiated by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro.

Addressing the newly-appointed student leaders, Mr Radrodro emphasised that leadership is a position of trust grounded in discipline, integrity, and service. He reminded the prefects that their appointments were based on merit and encouraged them to lead with humility, respect, and a strong sense of responsibility.

“True leadership is built on good character and a heart for service,” he said, urging the students to set positive examples for their peers.

The minister also cautioned against bullying and misconduct, stressing the importance of maintaining safe and drug-free school environments.

He underscored that student leaders play a critical role in upholding school values and fostering a culture of mutual respect.

Mr Radrodro acknowledged the vital support of teachers, parents, and guardians, noting that education begins at home.

He highlighted the importance of faith and strong moral values in shaping responsible and principled leaders.
