A 28-year-old man has been charged with murder following the alleged death of his 25-year-old wife during a domestic dispute in Waiyavi, Lautoka.
According to police, the incident occurred on Monday when an argument between the couple escalated into violence.
The accused is alleged to have assaulted his wife at their home, after which he reportedly informed a relative that the victim was lying motionless inside their room.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that the victim died as a result of injuries sustained from the alleged assault.
The accused has been charged with one count of murder and is scheduled to appear at the Lautoka Magistrates Court today.
