The easing of the COVID-19 restrictions gave the chance for the Lautoka Golf Club to conclude its fifth and final round of the NHP Electrical Products-sponsored 18 holes two men stroke Ambrose event at the golf course on Saturday.

The club reported professional rep and schoolteacher Roneel Prakash teamed up with FNPF IT security engineer Praveer Chand to set the pace with a blistering 10 under par 59 for nett 56.25 to record top spot.

Brothers Adeel Khan and Azahar Khan posted a handy 57.75 for outright second place.

“Retired Fiji Airways pilot Captain Bill Gardiner made a grand comeback alongside dental practitioner Dr Vimal Murthi for a steady 60.25 to claim third prize,” the report reads.

Nearest to point (NTP) on the second hole to former Fiji FA referee Daven Mudaliar and Paster Pritam Singh on the nineth hole.

Prakash hit the longest drive on the third hole. LGC executive Raymond Singh confirmed that the top scores recorded on the day was reflective of the excellent course conditions.

“The easing of the COVID-19 restrictions has seen members adhering to all the government and Ministry of Health directives, thus paving the way to host more tournaments,” he said.

“LGC does not want to let its guard down and has warned members not to be complacent that could lead to suspension from the club.”

He said financial members must provide their membership card at the security gate to monitor all members movement in and around the club and golf course.
