A 40-year-old Lautoka businessman, Shaneil Suresh Autar, has appeared before the Nadi Magistrate’s Court after being arrested and re-charged over his alleged role in facilitating the exportation of more than 39 kilograms of cocaine to Australia in 2019.
Police say Mr Autar was initially charged in 2019 alongside a foreign national, but the case was later discontinued after a nolle prosequi was filed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Mr Autar is represented by Mark Anthony of Millbrook Hills Law Partners, while the State is represented by ODPP Senior Legal Officer Joeli Nasa.
The hearing is on-going at the moment.
