The Bose ni Vanua o Lau convened last Friday in Suva to address immediate leadership and development challenges facing the province.
The meeting brought together clan heads and traditional leaders to consider a list of priorities, including tighter support for families, enhancing maritime transport and pushing forward economic opportunities in copra and coconut.
They reiterated their commitment to working from the village and family levels up, saying that longstanding issues such as drug trafficking, HIV and under-resourced transport services must be tackled locally with national assistance.
