A recently formed Lami Cricket club has officially joined Cricket Fiji’s sanctioned competitions.

The club was formed through the Cricket for Good program which concluded its fourth season earlier this week.

Lami women is now one of the eight teams competing in the Women’s T20 Super League which started yesterday at Albert Park in Suva.

They come in as a replacement for Komo.

Cricket Fiji chief executive Sitiveni Rokoro said the competition will run until January 18.

“At the conclusion of the tournament, we will select a team to take part in a new competition at New Caledonia. It will be hosted by Cricket France on March 9-15.

“We have the same number of teams from last year, the only change is Lami replacing Komo,” he said.

Lami, defending champions Nausori Majidez, Sarafui Sinas from Rotuma, Northland Blaze, Black Ducks, Moce, Veiyasana Stars and Ono-I-Lau Sixers are part of the competition.
