Winning the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants Golden Boot Award is very special for Nasinu midfielder Jashnit Vikash.
Speaking to Fiji FA media after receiving his award from chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf at the headquarters in Vatuwaqa on Monday, the Go Fry-sponsored side player said this was a surprise to him.
“This was my first major tournament and winning the Golden Boot Award on my debut tournament is something to treasure,” said Vikash.
“I didn’t expect to win this award but I praise the Man above for giving me strength to score goals for my team.”
Vikash scored three goals in the tournament and was equal with Nadi’s Avinesh Waran Swamy, Rewa’s Setareki Hughes, teammate Marlon Taihoa, Ba’s Darold Kakasi and Abbu Zaid.
He scooped the award after playing less game. The HFC Bank worker dedicated his award to his parents in Labasa.
