EXTRA Supermarket Labasa FC is aiming to boost their momentum in this week’s match against Tailevu Naitasiri in round 14 of the Digicel Fiji Premier League competition.
Despite a disappointing 4-2 loss against Lautoka in round 13, the team is determined to maintain their winning streak, especially while playing on their home turf.
Head coach Ravneel Pratap expressed confidence in their preparations, acknowledging the drop in morale following the loss to Lautoka.
“The team faced challenges playing in their hometown, but they are eager to bounce back and not disappoint their fans and supporters,” said Pratap.
“Our defence was the main concern; we have worked and on during the week and we are ready for the clash against Tailevu Naitasiri.
Pratap said although three key players, including Taniela Waqa, Christopher Wasasala, and Akeimi Ralulu, will be unavailable due to injuries, the team remains optimistic.
They trust in the capabilities of their younger players and are hopeful of putting up a good performance against their opponents.
“We know Naitasiri will be coming in prepared, they are trying to come out of the relegation zone, and we are fighting to climb up the ladder.”
He adds they are looking forward to playing at home and are calling on Labasa fans to show up in numbers to support them.
Labasa had been pressing on league leaders Rewa on the points table but have been left behind after the 4-2 loss to Lautoka last week.
Tailevu Naitasiri will need to get points on the board themselves as recent losses has seen them occupy the bottom places on the points table.
T/N would be aware of the challenge on hand facing the lions in their own den but they know they are capable of pulling off an upset, as they have shown on a number of occasions this season.
