The Vodafone Fiji Bati were dealt a 18-50 defeat by the Papua New Guinea Kumuls on their home turf at the Santos National Football Stadium in Port Moresby yesterday.
Tries for the Bati were scored Kitione Kautoga with two in the 36th and 46th minute, Solomone Saukuru in the 58th and Semi Valemei in the 76th.
The Kumuls came out firing for the win, scoring eight tries that outdid the four tries made by the Bati.
The NRL reported that ground conditions were good with fine weather condition.
Possession during the match was varied with the Kumuls reported at 48 per cent while the Bati made up the remaining 52 per cent.
