Former Fiji Football Association technical director Ravinesh Kumar has been appointed as the new interim coach for Suva.

Kumar started in his new role yesterday and has two weeks to prepare the team for the Inter District Championship.

The Suva Football Club in a statement said Kumar would be the interim coach until a new coach was named.

“Kumar, based in New Zealand, is currently in the country and has agreed to assist us as the search for a new coach continues,” stated Suva FC.

Kumar was the coach of the Fiji under-19 team which won the OFC Nations Cup in Suva in 2014 and qualified for the Under-20 World Cup a year later.

The IDC will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva from October 10-15.
