The Fiji Kulas showed grit and composure to secure a late 2–1 win over the American Samoa Women’s National Football Team in their international friendly at 4R Stadium on Saturday.
Fiji made a bright start and were rewarded in the 32nd minute when Trina Davis found space in the box and finished confidently to give the hosts a 1–0 lead heading into halftime.
American Samoa lifted their intensity after the break and managed to pull level, setting up a tense contest as both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages.
With the match seemingly heading for a draw, captain Sofi Diyolowai delivered in extra time, striking the decisive goal to seal the victory and lift the home crowd.
The hard-earned result highlights Fiji’s fighting spirit and provides a timely boost as they continue building momentum.
