THE Joeli Lotawa coached Korovuto wrested the prized KK’s Hardware Challenge Shield from holders Tuwawa during the Nadi Rugby Union club competition at Prince Charles Park on Friday.
Down 8-9 at the break, Korovuto staged a second half rally to win the fixture 18-9.
Nadi Rugby Union secretary Ilimeleki Navula said Korovuto fielded an unknown line-up.
He said the side contained many young players.
“The result is good in terms of development as it gives a boost to the youngsters,” Navula said.
“The club competition will continue next week.”
The Tuwawa Rugby Club from Natalau Village had successfully defended the shield against Naduruniu 16-15 last week.
Meanwhile, Tovolea and Western Marine will face off in the final of the Senior A grade.
In the lone Senior B semi-final on Friday, Nasesevia Blue defeated Yako. The other semi-final between Vagadra and Korobebe is yet to be played.
