KALABU Secondary School intermediate boys long jump sensation Sireli Korosaya aims to win a gold medal for his school after winning a bronze medal last year in the Coca-Cola Games.
Korosaya said last year’s accomplishment was a surprise as it was his first time to compete in the long jump event.
“This year I am gunning for gold and I know I can win it and all I need to do is to train hard and improve on my starting and anything is possible when the day arrives,” said Korosaya.
“I never knew I had it in me and my mother asked me to try long jump from last year and I won a bronze medal so i will try my best to win gold this year.
The Ono-i-Lau athlete believe that hard work and commitment is the key to success and he aims to make his school proud during the inter zone and the Coca-Cola Games in April.
“It’s possible for any athlete to win gold but it depends on how hard they work and sacrifices they make and I challenge my brothers and sisters of Kalabu Secondary School to do their best in the zone and work hard to win a medal in the Coca-Cola Games,” Korosaya said.
Korosaya gained 6:19 metres last year in the Coke games winning a bronze medal and hopes to do better this year.
