Fiji Bati hooker Api Koroisau has been named as one of the Wests Tigers captains for the 2025 NRL season.
Koroisau along with former Panthers teammate Jerome Luai will lead the Tigers.
Three-time NRL premiership winner, Koroisau has provided outstanding leadership to the squad since somce his appointment as captain in the past two seasons.
Luai, who joined the club after winning four consecutive NRL premierships, has had leadership experience at international level and is a senior member of the NSW Blues State of Origin team.
The Fiji Bati star expressed his delight at the prospect of leading the side alongside new recruit, Luai.
“It’s a privilege to captain this club, and to now share that role with Jarome is really exciting,” Koroisau told the club’s media team.
“Over the past two years, I’ve seen firsthand the potential we have, and I’m confident we’re heading in the right direction. I’m looking forward to what we can achieve together as a team this season.”
28-year-old Luai, who was recently made captain of the Samoan national team for their tour of the UK, is extremely excited to begin the next chapter of his career.
“Being named captain of the Wests Tigers with Api is an honour I don’t take lightly,” Luai said.
“Api has set an incredible standard as a leader, and I’m excited to work alongside him again and contribute to building something special here.”
Head coach Benji Marshall, is certain that the two will steer the team to greater heights this year.
