FIJI bodybuilder Onisivoro Koroi’s passion and love for the sport has propelled him to great success over the years.
His dedication and hard work have earned him a spot in the upcoming South Pacific Bodybuilding Championship in Tahiti, scheduled for October.
At 47-years-old, Koroi recently competed in the 2025 Suva Classics Bodybuilding competition at the Metro gym in Suva, where he emerged victorious in the 80kg category.
With five Mr Fiji titles to his name and a win at the 2022 Mr & Mrs Fiji Bodybuilding Championship, Koroi has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the sport.
Reflecting on his journey, Koroi shared that his passion for bodybuilding was ignited at a young age.
Born as a big child, he channelled his energy into training and sculpting his body over the years.
“I was born a big child, over the years getting to train it just took my body to another level and that’s when I thought to myself, I must put my body on good use and take up the sport of Bodybuilding,” said Koroi.
“My first competition was in 2007, I was 20-years-old, the level of competition back then was great, as athletes were big and strong.”
Inspired by champion bodybuilder Ben Saqata, who mentored him and helped him reach new heights in the sport.
“My inspiration was Ben Saqata, he was known as a champion bodybuilder and has been crowned Mr Fiji multiple times, he helped me with my training and becoming the best.”
Despite facing financial challenges and having to travel from Tailevu to Suva for training, Koroi’s unwavering dedication to the sport kept him motivated.
Koroi expressed his gratitude to Fiji Bodybuilding for providing a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and dreams.
