NO team desires the notoriety of being an undisciplined one, even the Fiji Airways Fiji men’s 7s side thinks the same.
This, as the national team works to mitigate disciplinary blunders observed during the first two legs of the HSBC SVNS series in Dubai and Cape Town last year.
Head coach Osea Kolinisau affirmed that it was an area that needed to be ironed out sufficiently as the stakes in the series become even harder.
“That’s something we talked about with the boys, we don’t want the tag of being an undisciplined side,” Kolinisau said on Tuesday.
He explained this was a key component the team did not want to be associated with in light of the new series format.
“You got eight top teams, other teams are always looking for advantage and we cannot give them that kind of advantage.”
One such scenario he gave was the situation of having only six players on the field, where a man down meant giving opportunity to opponents to score.
