Government alone cannot solve all the country’s social ills, says Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran.
Ms Kiran told those present at the Sathya Sai Service Organisation’s national ladies retreat in Rakiraki that their work was necessary in solving these social problems.
“We need to re-educate ourselves on the values of care, compassion, and community,” Ms Kiran said.
“The theme of this retreat reminds us of the power of women’s resilience — to rise above adversity, to lead with grace and to serve with compassion.
“This retreat is a reminder: that when women stand together, rooted in values, they can transform our nation.
“Let us renew our commitment to stand against violence in all its forms, to continue serving our communities with humility and strength, and to support one another in solidarity.”
Ms Kiran said her ministry would walk the journey with the members of the organisation.
“Together, we can build a Fiji that is safer, kinder, and more inclusive — for every woman and every child.”
