The Kinoya Green took out the men’s volleyball final after beating Namadi Mighty Heights community team during the Central Community Games 2023 at Laucala Bay in Suva yesterday.
National volleyball rep Rewame Salabogi was part of the Namadi side.
He said while they were unlucky not to win the final, their participation at the Games had brought out team work of members of the Namadi community.
“The team is comprised mostly of young students, and our success in the tournament has been a testament to our hard work and dedication,” said Salabogi.
He highlighted the significance of the team’s performance, as it is the first time in a decade that they have advanced to the final.
He expressed his gratitude to the supporters from the Namadi community who rallied behind the team throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, Delainavesi won the women’s final.
In touch rugby, Raiwaqa won the men’s final while Samabula East took out the mixed final.
Nadera took the women’s netball title while Namosi-i-Wai won the mixed final.
Kuku beat Vusia 3-0 to win the beach soccer final.
