DEVELOPING junior golf in Fiji remains a key focus for Dinesh Chand following the successful hosting of the Dinesh Chand Invitational tournament at Denarau Golf Club.
Chand said his long-term plan includes returning home and setting up a junior golf academy, a vision he has held for some time.
He said working with children is easier and believes more effort is needed to encourage young players to take up the sport.
Chand revealed that he plans to reach out to schools next year as part of efforts to attract more juniors into golf and grow the game at grassroots level.
He said that tournaments like this are not only about competition, but also about creating opportunities for young golfers and giving back to the community.
