Australian tourist Dan Kelly anticipates an exciting Cloudbreak experience today and meeting Australian surfer and former World Champion Michael Fanning.
As the fifth winner of the Tourism Fiji and MasterCard giveaway promotion, this is the second merchant-focused campaign, presenting a unique opportunity to embark on adventures and create indelible, PRICELESS memories.
The 47-year-old Australian, who secured his win after shopping at Jacks Fiji Port Denarau using his MasterCard, expressed his excitement upon being approached by the media.
His son Dylan Kelly will accompany him at Cloudbreak.
“I’m excited for this and especially meeting the World Champion Michael Fanning on Thursday(today).
“My son will accompany me, I don’t surf, but my son does,” Kelly said.
Speaking highly of Fiji, Kelly said; “I love the waters, the people are beautiful, this is my second time in Fiji,” he added.
Kelly will join four other winners for their trip to Cloudbreak along with some local surfers.
Among them is 14-year-old James Kusitino, a talented Fijian surfer who has been riding waves since the age of five.
“I have been to a lot of local competitions and I’m excited for this opportunity,” Kusitino said.
The Kulukulu, Nadroga native dropped out of school early this year to focus on his surfing.
“My parents decided for me to drop out of school and focus on my surfing career and when I don’t surf, I do home school,” young Kusitino explained.
