Fiji swimmer Kelera Mudunasoko was placed 44th of 56th overall during the World Aquatics Championship women’s 100m breaststroke event in Doha, Qatar yesterday.
The 16-year-old was placed fourth in her heat which was won by Bahama’s national champion Rhanishka Gibbs.
The Levuka, Lekeba, Lau lass clocked a time of 1 minute 15.64 seconds and was unable to qualify for the semi-finals.
She managed a time of 1.13.01s in the same event to win a gold medal at the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.
The final for her event will take place today with China’s Qianting Tang (1:05.36s) and Ireland’s Mona McSharry (1:06.11s) clocking the fastest times in the event.
Mudunasoko will now participate in the women’s 200m breaststroke on Friday.
Meanwhile, Hansel McCaig begins his event today with the men’s 100m freestyle.
