The Permanent Secretary for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry, Yogesh Karan, has resigned from the position effective from November 1, 2024.
This was announced by Public Service Commission chairperson Luke Rokovada yesterday. Mr Karan will pursue a career in national and international development with an international organisation based in Fiji.
“I wish Mr Karan great success in his new role,” Mr Rokovada said.
Mr Rokovada said Mr Karan has very extensive experience working with Government for more than 20 years in senior capacities in Fiji’s Foreign Service as High Commissioner to India, PS for the Office of the Prime Minister and PS for Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Sugar Industry.
“The Fiji Government thanks Yogesh Karan for his long and distinguished service as ambassador and permanent secretary among other key public sector roles.
“I am pleased that he will continue to play an important role through his work in national and international development.”
Mr Rokovada added that in the meantime, PSC would be looking for a replacement.
