Parents and guardians of children from the ages of 15 to 17 are being urged to register their children for vaccination.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama urged parents and guardians to get their children from that age group registered for vaccination so they can be protected against COVID-19. He conveyed the message while visiting schools that had been setup to operate as vaccination centres.

He also acknowledged the commitment and dedication of civil servants, medical officers and volunteers who had been manning the centres, ensuring that operations ran smoothly at the various centres.

The centres he visited included Lami Convent Primary School, Samabula Primary School, John Wesley College, Assemblies of God High School, Rishikul College and Bhawani Dayal Memorial College.

According to the Fijian Government, parents and guardians wishing to register their children can do so through the vaccine registry portal that is on the Fijian Government and Ministry of Health Facebook pages.

Parents and guardians are advised that registration for vaccination requires the birth registration number, citizenship certificate number or permit number from both the parent or guardian and the child entered alongside correlating dates of birth.
