THE Golf Fiji-sponsored Junior Open will be held this Saturday at the Novotel Golf Course, with young golfers set to compete across three age divisions.
The tournament will feature U10, U13 and U18 categories, giving junior players the opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive stroke play format. Players aged nine years and below will contest five holes, those aged 10 to 12 years will play nine holes, while golfers aged 13 to 17 years will complete the full 18-hole round.
Golf Fiji president Amitesh Chandra said the association is looking forward to another exciting junior event.
“We are looking forward to an exciting event and it will be a good day,” Chandra said.
The Junior Open is part of Golf Fiji’s development pathway and aims to expose young players to competitive golf while encouraging discipline, sportsmanship and confidence on the course. With entries from various clubs and support from tournament partners, Saturday’s event is expected to highlight the depth of junior golf talent in Fiji.
