HIGH Court judge Justice Salesi Temo yesterday informed lawyers before his court that communicating to the court through letters was unacceptable.
He made this comment after Josua Colanaudolu’s lawyer, Barbara Malimali did not appear in court yesterday but had informed the court through a letter of her stance on the matter before the court.
Mr Colanaudolu, who is facing 24 counts ranging from abduction, rape, indecently annoying a female and murder, appeared before Justice Temo at the High Court in Suva yesterday.
Justice Temo reminded the lawyers that if they could not make it to court, they should send another counsel to appear on their behalf.
Mr Colanaudolu has been further remanded in custody.
The matter has been adjourned to November 4.
