Judge orders seizure of vehicles and $39K linked to 2019 drug importation

Cash and vehicles used as part of cocaine importation into the country in October 2019 have been declared tainted property and forfeited to the State.

The case is related to the importation of 39 kilograms of cocaine into the country by Marc Winston with the involvement of two other persons.

The three vehicles subject to confiscation were recovered from three persons, in separate arrests at separate locations, and all three vehicles were allegedly involved in the transportation of Cocaine according to affidavit in support. Forensic report confirmed the presence of Cocaine in all three vehicles.

“All vehicles were detected of Cocaine. There is evidence they were involved in Commission of offence relating expert of Cocaine,” said Justice Deepthi Amaratunga in his June 25 ruling.

“The vehicles were registered to very closely associated persons of the three people discovered by Police in investigation of Cocaine proves all vehicles were involved on transport of Cocaine.”

The judge ordered cash $39,937.65, vehicle LR 4471 (Toyota Hilux ), vehicles Toyota Prius bearing Registration XQUSEME and jeep bearing registration TJMIN be forfeited to the State.
