Government is trying to poke its nose into the affairs of Fiji Airports which has been handling the affairs of airports in Fiji, says Opposition MP Anare Jale.

Speaking during the 2022-2023 National Budget debate on Monday, he said it was a smack in the face of the management of Fiji Airports and its employees.

“The Government in what it is proposing to do is saying that the AFL (now Fiji Airports) and its employees lack the expertise and skills to manage our airports,” he said.

“And trust Fiji Airways more to look after our airports. “Why cannot AFL (now Fiji Airports) conduct a reform on its operation if that is needed.”

He said the Minister for Economy should leave Fiji Airports alone.
