KOMO is banking on crowd support to win the Suva Cricket Association club competition grand final next week.
The islanders were well-represented in the semi-final yesterday with close to 150 vocal supporters scattered around the Laucala Oval.
As soon as Filipe Senibua smashed a boundary when Komo needed a single run from three balls to win against Veiyasana Imperial Cricket Club, jubilant fans invaded the pitch, celebrating by singing at the top of their voices.
“We have plenty support today (yesterday). Komo has big number of fans,” Komo skipper Saimoni Tuitoga said.
“They helped us to win. We never thought we will have a big support like this.
“I also thank the boys for their effort,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to the final. We prefer to play Army because they are a good team.”
He said Komo would be working hard on improving its bowling during training this week.
“We had some wide balls,” Tuitoga said.
“We have a lot of young players and we need to help them with skills.
” Against VICC our start was good. We came to the middle, there was a little bit of collapse and we tried to pull things in the end,” Tuitoga said.
Komo will face Army in the final.
The soldiers beat Yadrana in the second semi-final by 10 wickets.
