CAPTAIN Cook Cruises has received overwhelming international response to its recent advertisement on new cruise itineraries.
Captain Cook Cruises brand marketing and public relations executive, Andhy Blake said the new itineraries have attracted a lot of attention in the international market “because we’re not just showcasing the Fijian culture, we’re also introducing the Polynesian culture, with that of Tonga and Samoa”.
Captain Cook Cruises announced its new cruise itineraries after it launched Fiji’s first luxury small ship expedition cruise with the MS Caledonian Sky, which it brought into the country in November last year.
“So, we have four new itineraries that we launched last year when we received the Caledonian Sky,” Mr Blake said.
“Two of the local itineraries are our seven-night cruise to Southern Lau and seven-night cruise to Northern Lau.
“And then we have a 14-night cruise that sails from Fiji through the Northern Lau region up into Tonga, and we timed that with the whale migration so our guests will be able to swim and snorkel with the humpback whales in Vava’u.
“The other 14 nights is through from Fiji to Samoa and then we also stop in Wallis and Futuna along the way.
“With our new itinerary that we’ve introduced into Fiji, for sailing within Fiji, we now cover over 90 island destinations. Fiji has over 333 islands and we sail to over 90 of those in Fiji, and then three other Pacific islands — Wallis and Futuna, Tonga, and Samoa.”
Mr Blake said the Southern Lau and Tongan Whale Migration expedition luxury cruise would be one to look forward to. “Interest has been really good. A lot of people have been taking interest because it’s convenient as well for most of those that want to just do island hopping,” he said.
“So, they fly into Nadi on Fiji Airways, they board Captain Cook Cruises at the port in Lautoka and then we sail out.
“And the good thing about our cruises is it’s inclusive, so guests will get their suite, all the meals, all the activities on board. They get to do island visits for all the islands that we will stop in, our guests will get off the ship.
“There’s also a drinks package as well. The only thing that guests will pay extra for is scuba diving for those who want to do scuba diving, and our spa treatment.”
Departure dates for the seven-night explore Northern Lau, Fiji expedition are April 13, May 11, June 8, August 3, and September 28, while the Southern Lau and Tongan Whale Migration expedition is scheduled for August 17.
