Investigations into claims made against the principal of Ratu Kadavulevu School and the students who staged a protest at the school last week is continuing.
This according to Education Minister Rosy Akbar who also said she was not aware of any declaration forms being distributed to RKS students. “I am not aware at all,” Ms Akbar said.
“I’m aware that the team that is investigating the protest and the allegations met up with the parents of some of the students who were believed to have been in leading positions.
“That, I am aware of. “I’m hoping that they’d table the recommendation to me by this afternoon and then I will look at what they are recommending and we can decide on what needs to be done as a way forward.
“You’ve got to understand that we need to allow the investigations to take place and then in totality, we will look at the situation and the way forward.
“But as far as I am concerned, we need the students back in school.”
Ms Akbar said the call made by the RKS Student Council body and the Parents and Teachers Association to remove the principal would need to await the outcome of the investigations.
