A DECREASE has been noted in the net international investment position of the country in the March quarter of this year when compared with that of December last year.
In its September issue on the International Investment Position, the Fiji Bureau of Statistics noted that Fiji’s net international investment position was -$7376.5 million as at March 31.
It said the net international investment position fell by $101.5m when compared with -$7081.5m for the December quarter of last year.
The bureau said the amount reflected a much higher value of foreign investment in Fiji compared with Fiji’s investments abroad.
International Investment Position statement provides a snapshot of the country’s international financial assets and liabilities and measures the level of Fiji’s financial assets and liabilities with the world.
