Two Fijian Police Officers received the Best International Students Award at the Jiangsu Police Institute in Nanjing Jiangsu.
According to a post on the Fiji Police Force Facebook page, Inspector Kavit Mani and Police Constable Michael Jang are pursuing their Bachelor’s in Public Security at the institute – a study opportunity provided by the People’s Republic of China under the memorandum of understanding between the Fiji Police Force and the Ministry of Public Security.
The two returned to continue their studies in October this year, after a lapse of over two years due to the global pandemic.
The bachelor’s program covers courses that include public security, investigation, border management (majoring in narcotics), criminology, foreign and domestic security, economic crime and defence command.
Insp Mani, who is from Vunivau in Labasa, joined the Fiji Police Force in 2013 and had successfully completed the officer cadet program in 2017.
Police Constable Jang who hails from Salia, Nayau in Lau, had joined the force in 2014 and has served eight years at the Savusavu Police Station.
