The Indian naval ship, Kadmatt, arrived in Suva on Monday for a three-day goodwill visit, marking a milestone in the growing defence and cultural partnership between India and Fiji.
Commanded by Commander Kutuhal Limaye, the warship carries more than 200 naval personnel who have journeyed across two oceans, three straits, four seas, and five time zones to reach Fiji.
This visit followed closely on the heels of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s recent visit to India, underscoring the mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
The visit encompasses a diverse program of professional, cultural, and public engagements.
The ship was open to the public for a rare tour opportunity, allowing Fijians to explore one of India’s advanced naval vessels.
A joint concert featuring the Indian Navy Band and the Republic of Fiji Navy Band was held at Ratu Sukuna Park, showcasing the vibrant cultural links and camaraderie between the two navies.
