Injuries delay FHL Tower opening

THE official opening the FHL Tower in Suva has been delayed yet again, this time due to injuries sustained by two workers at the site.

Proprietor Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) announced it was informed of a workplace incident reported on November 25 at the FHL Tower construction site where two workers sustained injuries.

While not disclosing whether there will be any liability incurred for FHL as a result of the injuries

“FHL Tower is currently an active construction site under the management of the main contractor,” FHL stated.

“FHL will work closely with the contractor, and authorities to ensure that the due process is followed.”

The company did not disclose whether it will face legal liabilities but said the incident will delay the opening of the tower, which was scheduled for opening next month.

“This decision reflects our commitment to prioritising safety and ensuring the highest standards of care and responsibility,” it stated.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected and their families during this difficult period.”

FHL is listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange.
