A 25-year old man was taken into police custody early today after the person he was with at a popular night spot in Lautoka City allegedly died from breathing complications.
Police confirmed the suspect alerted officers at the Shirley Park Police Post at 4am for assistance when the deceased started having breathing difficulties.
“He was conveyed to Lautoka Aspen Medical Hospital and pronounced dead on arrival,” a police statement said.
“A postmortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.”
Police refuted claims the suspect was a sex worker.
