Fijian nationals can now obtain tourist and medical visas to India free of charge following a new initiative by the High Commission of India in Suva.

In a public notice, the High Commission announced that, effective 29 June 2026, it will issue tourist visas, medical visas and medical attendant visas to Fijian nationals on a gratis basis.

The move removes the fees previously charged for physical tourist and medical visas issued through the High Commission.

Before the waiver, a physical tourist visa valid for up to one year cost FJ$230, while a one to five-year tourist visa was FJ$452. Medical visas were charged at FJ$185 for stays of up to six months and FJ$274 for visas valid between six months and one year.

The High Commission said all other visa fees for Fijian nationals will remain unchanged.

The fee waiver applies to visas issued by the High Commission in Suva and is expected to make travel to India for tourism and medical treatment more affordable for Fijians.
