An increase in people buying groceries at supermarkets in Lautoka City was seen yesterday after news broke of Fiji’s first COVID-19 case.
Supermarkets were packed with people rushing to buy and stock up on groceries, medical and cleaning supplies.
One of the largest supermarket outlets in Lautoka City, Shop N Save Supermarket, saw hundreds of people packed into to purchase necessities before the restriction of movements from midnight.
Shop N Save Supermarket director Nisheel Deo Kisun said it was business as usual unless told otherwise.
