UPHOLDING Fijian culture and its values are the cornerstone of this great school, Adi Cakobau School.
This was highlighted by the chief guest and former president Ratu Epeli Nailatikau during the opening of the school’s 70th anniversary celebration held at the school yesterday.
With the current school roll standing at 1006, Mr Nailatikau reminded the students of the need to continue to uphold the school’s legacy.
“Adi Cakobau School has reared women leaders in all aspects of life. It has made politicians, diplomats, civil servants, medical professionals, university lecturers, economists, chartered accountants and professionals in other fields,” Mr Nailatikau said.
He said the current students would be well acquainted with the ACS Old Girls Association no matter what career path they pursued.
School principal Arieta Yauvoli said ACS was established on October 1, 1948.
“It stands today as it has seven decades ago with its white building that have nurtured thousands of women leaders at all levels of service provision not only for our beloved nation, but across the globe,” Ms Yauvoli said.
