NEARLY half a million dollars in gate takings was raked in during the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship when it returned to the 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.

The gate takings were recorded at $497,341.90, as part of income figures tabulated in the Fiji Football Association’s income and expenditure account for it at its council meeting in Suva yesterday.

It was part of four other entries recorded as income in the association’s income and expenditure account for the IDC.

These were sponsorship figures stood at $120,000, pay-per-view earnings for matches at $170,720.02, broadcasting rights valued at $27,391.31 and proceeds from registration recorded at $3800.05.

The gross income figure amounted to $819,253.28 while total expenses came to $380,793.99 with a net surplus of $374,507.73.

Recorded expenditure included a 25 per cent share of gate takings paid out to the Ba Town Council of $93,211.48 and a five per cent payment of $24,867.10 to online event ticket platform Ticketmate.

Value added tax was also accounted for in these figures. The high figures are reflective of the large numbers of people flocking in from Ba, around the country and the world to witness the football mania return to the 4R Electrical, Govind Park.

Interest in the tournament’s move to Ba was high prior to its kick-off, and with the concerted effort of then incoming Ba Football Association president Praneel Dayal and his team to revive the largely dormant football spirit there, it helped drive attendance figures to an all-time high for all stakeholders.

On its final day, the stadium reached full capacity by midday, and the final was scheduled for 3pm.

Attendance figures recorded for the thrilling finale between Ba and Rewa stood at 13,118 people.

The Fiji FA stated it was the highest attendance figure ever recorded since the competition began in 1938.

Meanwhile, for the MSG Cup, the trading account recorded a deficit of $19,892, as expenses incurred of $272,892 were more than the total revenue of $253,000.

A deficit of $9363 was recorded in the trading account of the Futsal Champions League, the difference between total revenue of $113,633 and total expenses of $122,996. Fiji FA recorded a surplus of $9859 for the Thailand tour.
