THE Hydro 7s team returned to the 40th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s after a lapse of four years.
The efforts of former national rep Kiniviliame Radaveta did not go unnoticed as the Nadarivatu boys came out of Pool 16 unbeaten and no points scored against them.
Radaveta said their being away for four years was because of player migration to other parts of Fii because of work.
“I have been developing these players for the past two years. This year I thought that bringing them here to the Marist 7s would provide them with a good exposure,” Radaveta said.
“I am happy with the way they played today. This is their first major tournament and all I wanted was for them to at least learn a few things from playing in front of large crowds and playing against major teams.”
He said his boys needed a lot of experience, especially playing in major tournaments.
“We want the boys to also watch how other players whip their magic, so as to encourage them to have something to dream for.”
He said majority of his players were school leavers who had become farmers in Nadarivatu and Naitasiri.
