Heavy rain failed to deter hundreds of eager students from seeking enrolment at Pacific Polytech’s Nausori campus.

Nausori campus co-ordinator Maikali Naikawakawavesi said given the large number, 10 lots of about 200 students each were given counselling on courses that were available at the campus.

“We were able to deliver vital information today to the students,” said Mr Naikawakawavesi.

He said there were a number of other areas in which students were seeking upskilling.

He said one favourite area was aged care and adult health care.

Unfortunately, these were outside the present priority areas.

Those from other areas were also advised to join Tavua campus, Lautoka campus or Labasa campus.

The Pacific Polytech is a new technical training institution formed to boost technical training and skill development.

It is headed by Peni Taoi, a manager and veteran TVET trainer.

The Nausori campus is located at Vuci South Rd.
